Ken Ushijima

Ken Ushijima of Dialogue Gallery learned a lot about art 30 years ago when he was a graduate student at a business school in Boston, where he also took courses in art history and contemporary art at another school. He also learned art management. After returning to Japan, he worked in the financial services industry and later set up an art gallery. He carefully selects ceramic artworks by mid-career artists of Japan.
Ken is Japanese, but he lived in the US as a student, made business trips to the UK, other European countries, Hong Kong and Singapore, and held exhibitions in China. Using his experiences in communicating with people in different countries and cultures, he hopes to introduce the attractiveness of Japanese ceramic art to a global audience.
